It is always a good time to join the Montreal Recorder Society! Become a member

You play the recorder? You played it in school? You don't play it, but would love to learn to in a friendly environment? The Montreal Recorder Society is THE place to discover or rediscover this instrument while playing beautiful ensemble music.  Our activities include groups led by directors that cater from absolute beginners to advanced players.  Each group plays in at least one concert per year.  Small group playing is also encouraged and small groups play at most concerts.  We also have monthly sightreading or interpretation sessions and parties at Christmas and the end of the year.

You will find all the information on the activities of the MRS for the 2017-2018 season at the website. Enrollment is open year-round. Our 6 practice groups and our directors will be happy to welcome you.

We recommend that you consult the section Evaluate your level. If  you are not sure what your level is, or are ready for a new challenge, or rather wish to switch to a slower tempo, we strongly encourage you to come and make a try and discuss with our directors. You are sure to find a group that will suit you.

Sight-readings sessions are open to everyone as long as you can play at least two of the main recorders (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) at an advanced beginner level.
